Lynn Aurélie is a Haitian Photographer and Multidisciplinary Storyteller whose work centers and celebrates the black experience.—

Lynn Aurélie (b. 1998, Haiti) is a Photographer and Multidisciplinary Storyteller whose work centers her continual journey in search of identity, belonging, and a sense of place.

Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and having relocated to the US in 2010 after the devastating earthquake that struck the island, Aurélie uses her work to vent. To openly delve into and highlight subjects, social issues, and communities that are often overlooked, neglected, and pushed into obscurity. For instance, meticulously documenting the intricate nuances of family migration, where themes of joy, faith, hope, and belonging are interwoven with the enduring effects of displacement, trauma, and loss.

Through this exploration, a constantly evolving body of work takes form, showcasing the spectacular within the mundane, stillness in motion, and uncovering joy amidst suffering. Aurélie currently utilizes documentary-style photography, multimedia storytelling, and installation as her primary artistic mediums.

Her work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions and publications including The Salmagundi Club, The Fitchburg Art Museum, ArtsWorcester, Refinery29, Fisheye Magazine, VSCO, and other national and international publications.
