Here I go challenging myself again!
So, one thing about me... I don't do challenges. I try tho, I truly do! And I'm super optimistic every. single. time. which does not help in the slightest bit. Back in November, I challenged myself to post one photo a day anywhere (VSCO, IG, Tumblr etc.) for 100 days. I cackled at the thought but went through with it anyway. Ummm... I did not make it past day 10, I kid you not.
But this time is different. This challenge is not only about learning to be consistent and confident in sharing my work, but rather a much-needed declutter. Throughout 2020, with the help of SHOW YOUR WORK by Austin Kleon, I really challenged myself to share a little bit more of my work online. But truth be told, there's still ALOT more that I'm still hoarding.
So over the next 13 weeks, I will be sharing 13 stories... I don't know about what yet but they will be a cumulative collection of self-portraits, still lifes that I still can't decide if I'm 'feeling' but will share anyway, moments with family and friends, spaces and places in which I find myself etccc.
In case you're wondering why 13 specifically? This is actually my most important goal for Q2 of 2021. Thanks to Muchelle B on Youtube, I am learning to set SMART goals (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, time-bound) on a quarterly basis, rather than setting extreme, unrealistic goals at the beginning of the year that I will completely forget by January 20th. So yeah, 13STORIES is an initiative that I've taken to clear out my camera roll and sd cards and make space for new stuff to hoard for the next couple of years lool.
This challenge is much more reasonable than the 100 days one, so I think- no, I want to and I WILL see this through. enjoy x
