My younger sister, Laetitia‘s, birthday was this past Tuesday April 14th, and I wanted to shoot some cute portraits of her to commemorate the BIG 15!! She's 15 years old people, I'm officially old.........
So for the first part of the shoot, we bought birthday balloons and propped up my gold holographic poster board from Michael's- the same one from Queen Mother's birthday shoot- and she wore a fun street-style outfit. It was a very minimal, laid-back and cost-effective shoot. Times are tough rn, but we can still find creative and affordable ways to capture important life events. All you need is a couple of balloons from DT and you got yourself a shoot!!
Now for the second part of the shoot, I really wanted to capture some cool portraits of Laetitia, which is my specialty obvi. Through this process, I realized that I've never actually gotten the chance to shoot high-quality, fine-artsy portrait photos of Laetitia. And I've only done so once for Leekah for her birthday photos. So I want to be more intentional about using the girls’ faces for my creative endeavors during this time. This can actually become our "thing". Hashtag Sister Hustle <3
Similarly to the photos I shot of Leekah for her birthday, I really wanted Laetitia's portraits to reflect her innocence, growth, and maturity. She’s a grown woman now y'all (well.. not while she's still living under our roof). But she is evolving and maturing, and it has been such an honor to watch her bloom into such a beautiful, strong, intelligent, kind-hearted, funny, dependable, mature, young woman and I’m so proud of her!!! (Love you Bibiii)
So yeah I present to you, Portrait of Angel-Chloe [2020]
Enjoy xLA
